Chapter 8 – A Pearl Comes Home

Three months later, Ashcombe Manor opened its gates for the first time—not for a gala, but for a charity honoring Rose Ashcombe.
The stolen foundation money had been recovered.
Scholarships were created in Rose's name.
The orphanage victims finally received justice.
Julian canceled his engagement to Victoria and stepped down from the family board until every investigation was complete.
As for Lily...
She stood beside a newly planted white rose garden, wearing a simple blue dress instead of torn clothes.
Julian knelt in front of her and opened a small velvet box.
Inside was the complete Ashcombe heirloom pearl necklace.
Only one pearl was missing.
The one Rose had given her daughter.
"It belongs with you," Julian said softly.
Lily touched the engraved pearl around her neck.
"My mommy said this pearl would always lead me home."
Julian smiled through tears.
"She was right."
