Chapter 1 - THE DAUGHTER WHO SAVED HIS LIFE

Ethan Blackwood had spent seven years believing his family was gone.

The world told him his wife Amelia and his newborn daughter Lily died in a hospital fire.

He buried Amelia.

He buried an empty coffin for his baby girl.

And every night, he lived with the same question.

What would his daughter have looked like?

But that night, inside his mansion, a little girl in yellow pajamas stopped him from drinking poisoned tea.

“Daddy… don’t drink it.”

The word shattered his reality.

No one had called him that in seven years.

Ethan stared at Lily like he was seeing a ghost.

The housekeeper Nora immediately tried to explain.

“She gets confused sometimes, Mr. Blackwood.”

But Ethan noticed something.

Lily was not confused.

She was terrified.

She knew something was inside that cup.

When Dr. Samuel Hayes confirmed the tea contained enough digitalis to kill him, Ethan’s entire world changed.

The quiet orphan girl living in his servants’ wing was not just a child.

She was connected to the greatest tragedy of his life.

Then Lily revealed the silver locket around her neck.

Inside was a photograph of Amelia holding a newborn baby.

On the back were five handwritten words.

“Our Lily looks like you.”

Ethan’s hands started shaking.

Because only two people knew the name Lily.

Him.

And Amelia.

Then he saw the hospital bracelet hidden inside.

Baby Girl Blackwood.

Mother: Amelia Blackwood.

Ethan looked at the little girl standing in front of him.

The daughter he mourned for seven years was alive.

But before he could embrace her, Lily whispered something that froze his blood.

“Daddy…”

“Mommy is still alive too.”
