CHAPTER 7: THE WOMAN WHO FINALLY STOOD TALL

One year later.

I walked across another stage.

Not as a victim.

Not as the girl everyone underestimated.

But as the youngest researcher to receive the university’s highest academic award.

Professor Hughes handed me the certificate.

“You earned this.”

I smiled.

This time…

Nobody could take it away.

After the ceremony, reporters asked me:

“Emily, what do you want people to remember about your story?”

I looked into the cameras.

“The truth doesn’t always arrive quickly.”

“Sometimes it takes years.”

“Sometimes it takes courage.”

May you like

“But eventually…”

“It finds a voice.”
