"Call an ambulance!" Daniel shouted.
Vanessa stood frozen.
"I SAID NOW!"
She grabbed her phone with shaking hands.
Daniel dropped to his knees beside Emily.

He instinctively pressed his jacket beneath her head.
"Stay awake."
Emily cried through the pain.
"I'm sorry..."
"I'm so sorry..."
"I never stopped loving you."
Daniel closed his eyes.
"I don't know if I'll ever forgive you."
"But our child..."
"...is innocent."
Minutes later, paramedics burst into the bridal suite.
The wedding guests watched in horror as Emily was wheeled through the hotel lobby, still wearing her bloodstained wedding dress.
The ceremony was canceled.
News helicopters surrounded the hospital within the hour.
The billionaire wedding had become a national scandal.
Hours later, a surgeon stepped into the waiting room.
"The baby survived."
Daniel collapsed into the nearest chair.
"And the mother?"
The surgeon smiled faintly.
"She's alive too."
