The shattered glass wasn't the sharpest thing that hit me that day.

The shattered glass wasn't the sharpest thing that hit me that day.

I was barely holding myself together.

Inside my bridal suite, just hours before I was supposed to walk down the aisle, my own maid of honor trapped me in a corner. Her eyes were empty—consumed by a rage I had never seen before.

Before I could say a single word, she screamed... and shoved me.

I slammed onto the cold marble floor.

Instinctively, both hands wrapped around my pregnant belly as agony tore through my body. Tears blurred my vision while I begged her to stop—for the baby's sake.

She didn't hesitate.

She stood over me, lifting the sharp heel of her shoe, her face twisted with merciless hatred, ready to bring it down again.

Then—

The suite doors burst open.

My fiancé stood in the doorway, frozen in his tuxedo.

Relief flooded through me.

I reached toward him, certain the man I loved would pull me out of this nightmare.

But he never took a step.

His expression changed.

Shock.

Disbelief.

Then something far more terrifying.

Pure, primal fury.

Only... it wasn't directed at the woman attacking me.

His eyes were fixed on the Bluetooth speaker across the room.

A hidden audio recording was playing.

Every word echoed through the bridal suite.

Every confession.

Every lie.

Every detail proving that I had orchestrated the financial collapse that destroyed his father.

As the truth filled the room, I realized something far worse than the pain ripping through my body.

In that moment...
