Chapter 3: The Hidden Contract

The wedding never happened.

Instead of celebrating, Isabella spent the night inside her father’s old office, searching through every document Adrian had given her.

Her lawyer arrived before midnight.

And after one hour of investigation

He found it.

A hidden contract.

A document Adrian had secretly prepared.

If Isabella married him, he would receive partial ownership of her company.

If she died unexpectedly

He would inherit everything.

Isabella stared at the papers.

Her hands shook.

“He planned my death?”

Her lawyer stayed silent.

Because the answer was obvious.

Meanwhile, Adrian disappeared.

But before leaving, he sent Isabella one message.

You ruined everything. You’ll regret this.

For the first time in months, Isabella wasn’t afraid.

She looked at the message.

Then she looked at Lily.

The little girl who had risked everything to save her.

“Thank you.”

Lily smiled sadly.

“I just didn’t want you to marry someone who didn’t love you.”

Those words broke Isabella’s heart.
