Ethan pulled out a small folded letter.
It was old.
The paper was damaged from years of being carried through war zones.
"Your father wrote this for you."
Emily touched it carefully.
"Why didn't I get it?"
Ethan looked down.
Because he had failed.
The letter had been lost during the final mission.
For years, he searched for it.
Until he found it buried inside his old military equipment.
Emily opened it.
The first line said:
"My little Emily, if you are reading this, it means I couldn't come home..."
