Chapter 2: Eleanor’s Final Warning

Graham locked everyone inside the mansion library.

Nobody was allowed to leave.

Not Celeste.

Not the security team.

Not even his closest advisors.

The recording continued.

Eleanor’s voice revealed a nightmare Graham never imagined.

Eighteen years earlier, before her death, Eleanor discovered someone inside the Vale family empire had been stealing millions of dollars.

She had planned to expose them.

But before she could reveal the truth, she died in a suspicious car accident.

The police called it a tragedy.

Graham believed them.

For eighteen years, he blamed fate.

But Eleanor’s recording revealed something else.

“My accident was not an accident.”

Graham looked at the documents.

Bank transfers.

Fake signatures.

Hidden accounts.

And one name appeared repeatedly.

Celeste Harrington.

Graham slowly looked up.

Celeste was crying now.

But not from fear.

From knowing her secret had been exposed.

“You think I killed Eleanor?” she whispered.

Graham said nothing.

Then Celeste smiled.

A cold, emotionless smile.

“No, Graham.”

She stepped closer.

“You never asked the right question.”

The room became silent.

“The question isn’t whether I was involved.”

She looked directly into his eyes.

“The question is why Eleanor trusted me enough to leave the evidence with me.”

Graham froze.

May you like

Because suddenly

Nothing made sense.
