Chapter 2: The Woman Everyone Judged

Chapter 2: The Woman Everyone Judged

Two police officers entered the mansion.

The employees watched as they searched Rosa’s small handbag.

Her old wallet.

Her simple clothes.

Everything she owned.

Rosa stood there, fighting tears.

ā€œI didn’t steal anything.ā€

Nobody answered.

Because in that moment…

Everyone believed the rich woman.

Not the maid.

Veronica watched proudly from the sofa.

She had planned everything perfectly.

If Rosa was arrested…

She would disappear from the mansion forever.

And no one would ever discover the truth.

The officer reached for his handcuffs.

Rosa closed her eyes.

She thought about Mateo.

She thought about how scared he would be if he saw his mother being taken away.

Then suddenly…

A small voice stopped everything.

ā€œDon’t take her.ā€

Everyone turned.

Standing at the top of the staircase was Lucas.

Veronica’s seven-year-old son.

His face was pale.

His hands were shaking.

But he walked downstairs anyway.

Veronica immediately stood.

ā€œLucas. Go upstairs.ā€

The boy looked at his mother.

ā€œNo.ā€

The entire mansion froze.

ā€œI don’t want to lie anymore.ā€

Veronica’s expression changed.

For the first time…

She looked afraid.
