Chapter 13 - THE HIDDEN HEIR

Alexander didn’t move after the call ended.

The phone was still pressed against his ear.

But Daniel Cross was gone.

The only thing left was one sentence.

“Your daughter was never the only child involved.”

Another heir.

Another secret.

Another person connected to the Sterling family.

For years, Alexander believed his biggest problem was losing his wife.

Then he discovered the stolen money.

Then the fake documents.

Then the manipulation.

But now he realized something much bigger had been hidden.

His entire family history was built on secrets.

“Alexander?”

Lauren’s voice pulled him back.

He looked at her.

“What did he mean?”

Alexander shook his head.

“I don’t know.”

Michael stood up.

“Actually…”

Both of them turned.

Michael looked uncomfortable.

“There is something I never told you.”

Alexander’s expression hardened.

“Not another secret.”

“I know.”

Michael lowered his eyes.

“But this one matters.”

He opened a file.

“Your father had another child.”

Silence.

Alexander stared at him.

“That’s impossible.”

Michael shook his head.

“No.”

He placed the document on the table.

“It’s real.”

Alexander picked it up.

A birth certificate.

A name.

Ethan Vale Sterling.

Born twelve years before Alexander.

His hands tightened around the paper.

“My father had another son?”

Michael nodded.

“Before he married your mother.”

Lauren looked shocked.

“Why didn’t anyone know?”

“Because Victoria erased him from the family history.”

Alexander felt sick.

His entire childhood.

His father.

His inheritance.

Everything.

A missing brother had been hidden.

“Where is he?”

Michael hesitated.

“That’s the problem.”

“What?”

“He disappeared years ago.”

Alexander looked at the document.

“Convenient.”

Michael nodded.

“Very.”

Then another thought hit him.

“Ethan Sterling.”

Michael looked up.

“Yes.”

“The cousin we thought wanted Sophia’s inheritance.”

Michael nodded slowly.

Alexander understood.

“That’s not his real identity.”

“No.”

Michael whispered.

“His real name is Ethan Vale Sterling.”

The room went silent.

The man they thought was a distant relative...

Was actually Alexander’s half-brother.

The hidden heir.

Lauren sat down.

“This was planned from the beginning.”

Alexander stared at the documents.

“My mother erased my brother.”

“Yes.”

“And then she controlled me.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

Michael looked at him.

“Because she wanted the entire Sterling empire under one bloodline.”

Alexander laughed bitterly.

“One bloodline?”

He looked toward Sophia’s room.

“She used my daughter as a business problem.”

Nobody answered.

Because that was exactly what happened.

Then Alexander noticed another document.

A legal transfer agreement.

His eyes narrowed.

“What is this?”

Michael looked at it.

Then his face changed.

“That’s impossible.”

“What?”

“This agreement was never completed.”

Alexander read the title.

Inheritance Transfer Upon Child Removal.

His stomach turned.

“If Sophia disappeared…”

Michael nodded.

“Ethan would receive control.”

Lauren whispered:

“They wanted her gone.”

Alexander closed the folder.

“No.”

His voice was different now.

Calm.

Dangerously calm.

“They wanted my daughter gone.”

That changed everything.

He wasn’t fighting for money.

He wasn’t fighting for the company.

He was fighting for Sophia.

Then his phone received a message.

A photo.

Alexander opened it.

His blood froze.

It was Sophia.

Standing outside the apartment building.

With Victoria.

May you like

The message underneath said:

“You should have listened.”
