Chapter 12 - THE WHITMORE NAME

Charles finally agreed to speak.

Alexander sat across from him.

I watched through the glass with Elena.

Charles looked exhausted.

But not ashamed.

“You want the truth?”

Alexander placed the DNA report on the table.

“I want everything.”

Charles leaned back.

Alexander’s mother had an affair thirty-nine years earlier.

Alexander was born from that relationship.

Charles discovered it when Alexander was seventeen.

He never told him.

Not because he loved him.

Because Alexander was useful.

Smart.

Disciplined.

Charismatic.

The perfect heir to Whitmore Holdings.

But years later, Elena discovered the truth while investigating financial irregularities.

She discovered Charles had been moving company assets into private accounts because he believed Alexander had no legitimate right to inherit the empire.

“You stole from your own company because I wasn’t your biological son?”

Charles stared at him.

“It was never yours.”

Alexander laughed softly.

“I built half of it.”

“You carried my name.”

“I carried your company.”

Charles leaned forward.

“And then Elena found everything.”

So Charles removed her.

Not by killing her.

That was too risky.

He erased her.

Then he created a false death.

Years later, Cynthia discovered pieces of the scheme.

Instead of exposing Charles, she joined him.

Together they planned to take control of Whitmore Holdings.

Vanessa was merely the public face.

The fake pregnancy was the mechanism.

And Noah was the unexpected complication.

A genuine biological heir.

Alexander’s son.

Charles could not allow Noah to exist publicly.

Because once Alexander discovered Elena and Noah were alive, every lie would collapse.

Alexander stood.

Charles looked up.

“What now?”

Alexander picked up the DNA report.

“Now?”

May you like

He looked through the glass toward Elena and Noah.

“Now I stop caring whether I’m a Whitmore.”
