“PLEASE! DON’T LET HER HURT THE CHILD!”

“GET OUT OF MY WAY!” Sabrina snapped.

“I’M FINISHING THIS RIGHT NOW!”

She stepped forward—

SLAP!

The sound cracked through the marble hall.

Sabrina froze.

The bat slipped from her hand.

CLATTER!

It crashed onto the marble floor.

Slowly, Sabrina touched her burning cheek and stared at Ethan in disbelief.

“You... you slapped me?”

But Ethan was already beside the little girl, pulling her safely into his arms.

“I’ve got you.”

“You’re safe now.”

Sabrina’s face twisted with rage.

“ETHAN! BRING THAT CHILD BACK HERE!”

Ethan slowly turned toward her.

And what he revealed next would expose the truth Sabrina had been desperately trying to bury.
