Chapter 11 - THE LAST LIE VICTORIA TOLD

Victoria had spent years building an image.

Perfect daughter.

Perfect fiancée.

Perfect woman.

And now, in less than five minutes, Ethan had seen the first crack.

But Victoria Sinclair didn’t survive this long by giving up.

She changed tactics.

She became emotional.

“Ethan…”

Her eyes filled with tears.

“I can’t believe you’re doing this.”

He stared.

“Doing what?”

“Listening to dead people instead of the woman standing in front of you.”

The words almost worked.

Almost.

Because Ethan still loved her.

That was Victoria’s greatest weapon.

Not money.

Not power.

Love.

“I loved your father,” she whispered.

Ethan’s jaw tightened.

“Then why did he record that?”

Victoria looked away.

A perfect pause.

A perfect reaction.

“He was sick.”

Ethan’s face hardened.

“You just said he wasn’t.”

Silence.

Victoria realized her mistake.

Only a second.

But Ethan noticed.

He noticed everything now.

Meanwhile, Elena waited downstairs.

She didn’t know what was happening.

She didn’t know if Ethan believed her.

But she knew one thing.

She had done everything she could.

Margaret sat beside her.

“You saved us.”

Elena shook her head.

“No.”

She looked upstairs.

“Not yet.”

Margaret squeezed her hand.

“You risked everything.”

Elena smiled sadly.

“My daughter taught me something.”

“What?”

“When someone threatens your family…”

She looked toward the ceiling.

“You stop being afraid.”

Then Ethan appeared.

Everyone became silent.

His face looked different.

Older.

Broken.

He walked toward Elena.

For a moment, she thought he would apologize.

Instead, he said:

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

Elena looked down.

“Because she threatened Sofia.”

Ethan froze.

“What?”

Elena showed him the message.

The photograph.

His expression changed completely.

“She threatened your daughter?”

“Yes.”

A dangerous silence filled the room.

Ethan looked toward the stairs.

Where Victoria was standing.

Watching.

And for the first time…

Victoria looked afraid.

Ethan ordered his security team to search the estate.

They found more hidden items.

Medication.

Documents.

Secret recordings.

But then something unexpected happened.

One of the guards found a locked box in Victoria’s bedroom.

Inside was a handwritten journal.

Ethan opened it.

The first page contained a date.

Eight years earlier.

The day she met him.

The first sentence destroyed him.

Ethan Blackwood is the perfect target.

He kept reading.

Every page was a plan.

Every romantic moment.

Every gift.

Every conversation.

Everything had been calculated.

Then he reached the final page.

His hands started shaking.

Because the last entry was written three days earlier.

After the wedding, Ethan will be controlled permanently.

Below it was one more sentence.

The final dose is prepared.
