Chapter 1: The Woman Everyone Blamed

The grand mansion had never been this silent.
Only the sound of broken glass and the heavy breathing of a terrified woman filled the marble hallway.
Sophia Anderson stood frozen near the living room entrance, one hand protecting her pregnant stomach, the other gripping the maid’s arm.
Her eyes were filled with fear.
“You pushed me…” she whispered.
The maid, Clara, looked at her with tears forming in her eyes.
“No, Mrs. Anderson… I was trying to move you away.”
But before Sophia could understand what she meant, a deafening crash echoed through the mansion.
BOOM!
The antique grand piano that had stood proudly at the top of the staircase came rolling down uncontrollably.
It smashed through the railing, destroyed expensive furniture, and stopped exactly where Sophia had been standing seconds earlier.
Everyone froze.
If Clara had not pushed her away…
Sophia and her unborn child would have been crushed.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Then footsteps thundered from upstairs.
Daniel Anderson, Sophia’s husband, rushed down the staircase.
His face was full of fake panic.
“Sophia! Are you okay?”
He ran toward his wife, but his eyes quickly moved toward Clara.
Then his expression changed.
“You!”
He pointed at the maid.
“You pushed my wife down the stairs!”
Sophia looked confused.
“Daniel… she didn’t…”
But Daniel interrupted.
“She attacked you! She could have killed you and our baby!”
Clara remained silent.
She knew exactly what was happening.
Daniel was trying to make her the villain.
The police were called.
The servants whispered.
Everyone looked at Clara like she was a monster.
But as the officers arrived, Clara noticed something.
Daniel’s right hand was closed tightly.
Too tightly.
“Mr. Anderson…” Clara said quietly.
Everyone turned toward her.
“What is in your hand?”
Daniel immediately stepped back.
“Nothing.”
But Clara walked closer.
“The piano didn’t roll by itself.”
The room became silent.
She looked at Sophia.
“Your husband removed the brake.”
Sophia’s face turned pale.
“No…”
Daniel laughed nervously.
“Don’t listen to a servant. She’s trying to save herself.”
But then Clara pointed at his hand.
“Open it.”
Slowly…
Daniel opened his fingers.
Inside was a small metal piece.
The missing brake mechanism.

Sophia covered her mouth.
The man she loved was holding the proof that he tried to kill her.
