A tiny swallow.
He stared at his son.

Then another.
The heart monitor beside the crib changed rhythm.
For the first time in nearly two weeks, Leo Rossi was actually eating.
Lorenzo slowly lowered the gun.
Twenty doctors had failed.
Three private clinics had failed.
Specialists flown in from across the country had failed.
His two-month-old son had rejected formula, donor milk, feeding tubes, and every expensive medical solution money could buy.
Doctors had given Leo less than forty-eight hours before his organs began shutting down.
Yet somehow, in the middle of the night, a twenty-four-year-old maid had walked into the forbidden nursery…
