Chapter 2: The Brother Who Was Erased

The truth did not arrive like a storm.

It arrived slowly.

Piece by piece.

And every piece destroyed the life everyone thought they understood.

Arthur placed a small envelope on the table.

“I kept this for seven years.”

Eliza stared at it.

“Why?”

“Because I was afraid.”

Arthur’s voice cracked.

“Afraid of Marcus. Afraid of what he would do if he knew I still had evidence.”

Damian opened the envelope.

Inside was an old hospital bracelet.

Not Oliver’s.

Another one.

The name written on it was faded.

But still readable.

GABRIEL HARLOW.

The room went silent.

Gabriel stepped back.

“No.”

Eliza looked at him with tears filling her eyes.

“Gabriel…”

He shook his head.

“No. That’s impossible.”

Marcus laughed through the speakers.

A cold, satisfied laugh.

“Finally.”

Everyone turned toward the monitors.

“You always wondered why you never had a family.”

Marcus continued.

“Why you had no childhood records. Why every trace of your birth disappeared.”

Gabriel stared at the screen.

His face slowly changed from confusion to anger.

“You knew?”

Marcus smiled.

“I knew everything.”

Damian stepped toward the speaker.

“Why?”

“Because one child could inherit everything.”

Marcus’ voice became darker.

“But two children could destroy my entire plan.”

Eliza finally understood.

“You wanted one child to disappear.”

“Yes.”

“And the other?”

Marcus paused.

“The other needed a different father.”

Damian looked at Oliver.

Then at Gabriel.

The realization was unbearable.

Marcus had not only stolen a child.

He had rewritten an entire family.

Gabriel walked toward Oliver slowly.

The boy looked afraid.

“I’m your brother?”

Gabriel’s eyes filled with emotion.

“I don’t know.”

Oliver looked at him.

“But you look like me.”

That simple sentence broke Gabriel.

Because for the first time…

someone looked at him and saw family.

Not a mistake.

Not a forgotten child.

Family.

Suddenly, the security system alarm activated.

Red lights flashed across the room.

Arthur looked terrified.

“No…”

Damian turned.

“What?”

Arthur stared at the monitors.

“Marcus isn’t here to reveal the truth.”

The doors automatically locked.

“He’s here to destroy it.”

On the screen appeared a countdown.

05:00

Five minutes.

Eliza grabbed Oliver’s hand.

“What happens when it reaches zero?”

May you like

Arthur looked at them with fear.

“The entire building burns.”
