Chapter 2 – The Woman in Crimson

The ballroom fell silent.
Even the orchestra seemed to lose its rhythm as every pair of eyes turned toward the woman standing beneath the towering golden doors.
She wore a floor-length crimson gown that flowed like liquid fire, its elegant silhouette transforming the humble waitress into someone no one recognized.
The gray uniform was gone.
So was the quiet woman everyone believed they could humiliate.
She walked with effortless grace across the polished marble floor, her head held high, her expression calm.
Alex's confident smile slowly disappeared.
"You..." he whispered.
The Woman in Silver frowned.
"How is she..."
The music changed.
Without asking permission, the conductor nodded.
The waitress stepped into the center of the ballroom.
She raised one hand.
Then she danced.
Not with flashy tricks.
Not to impress.
Every movement was elegant, controlled, and breathtakingly precise.
Years of classical ballroom training returned as naturally as breathing.
The guests watched in stunned silence.
An elderly gentleman near the front suddenly stood up.
"My God..."
"I know that style."
His wife gasped.
"That's the Delacroix Technique."
"The Royal Conservatory teaches that."
The whispers spread like wildfire.
"Who is she?"
"How can a waitress dance like that?"
Alex stared without blinking.
For the first time that evening...
He realized he had no idea who the woman before him really was.
When the music ended, the applause exploded through the ballroom.
The waitress simply bowed.
Then she turned toward Alex.
"I kept my promise."
"Now it's your turn."

The room erupted into laughter—not at her...
But at him.
