PART 3 — The Secret Hidden Inside Velasco International

The next morning, the Velasco mansion was no longer peaceful.

It was a battlefield.

Nicolás stood inside his private office while documents covered the desk.

Medical reports.

Laboratory results.

Purchase records.

Everything connected to Mateo’s condition.

And one terrifying discovery.

Someone had manipulated the investigation.

The doctors were not simply wrong.

They had been given false information.

Sofía stood across from him.

“You said fifteen specialists examined him.”

“Yes.”

“Who selected them?”

Nicolás looked up.

“My medical team.”

“Who approved the treatments?”

A pause.

“My mother.”

Silence.

Neither of them spoke.

Because they both understood the same thing.

The problem was bigger than a bracelet.

Valeria entered the office holding Mateo.

The baby was awake.

But calm.

She looked at Sofía.

“He smiled this morning.”

Those words almost broke Nicolás.

Because he had forgotten what his son’s happiness looked like.

Sofía smiled.

“That means his body is finally resting.”

Valeria looked at Nicolás.

“We need the truth.”

For years, Valeria and Nicolás had fought.

Pride.

Anger.

Family expectations.

But Mateo changed everything.

They were no longer two powerful families.

They were two parents.

And someone had hurt their child.

Nicolás launched a private investigation.

Within twenty-four hours, they discovered something hidden inside Velasco International.

A secret medical supplier.

A company connected to Leonor’s closest advisors.

The same company that provided Mateo’s clothing materials.

The same company that recommended the doctors.

The same company that altered laboratory reports.

But one question remained.

Why?

Why would anyone hurt an innocent baby?

That evening, Nicolás confronted his mother.

Leonor sat in the mansion library.

Calm.

Elegant.

As if nothing had happened.

“You knew,” Nicolás said.

She looked up.

“Knew what?”

“You knew Mateo was reacting to those materials.”

Her expression did not change.

“I knew he was sick.”

“You knew.”

His voice became dangerous.

“Do not lie to me.”

For the first time, Leonor looked uncomfortable.

“I did what was necessary.”

Nicolás froze.

“What did you say?”

Leonor stood.

“You think this company became powerful because we were kind?”

Her eyes hardened.

“Power requires sacrifice.”

“My son?”

“Our family.”

Nicolás stared at the woman who raised him.

“I built an empire.”

“No.”

She stepped closer.

“You inherited one.”

A painful silence.

Then Nicolás understood.

This was never about Mateo.

It was about control.

Leonor revealed the truth.

Years ago, she had created hidden agreements inside Velasco International.

She wanted complete control over the company.

But Nicolás had changed.

He became a better businessman.

A better father.

A man who wanted to leave something meaningful behind.

She feared losing power.

So she planned to make Mateo dependent.

A sick heir.

A weak family.

A company she could control.

But she underestimated one person.

A nurse who paid attention.

When security escorted Leonor away from the mansion, Nicolás stood outside.

For the first time in years, he felt empty.

Not because he lost power.

Because he lost his mother.

Sofía stood beside him.

“You okay?”

He looked at her.

“No.”

A pause.

“But Mateo is.”

She nodded.

“That matters.”

Three months later, the Velasco mansion changed.

The golden decorations remained.

The expensive cars remained.

But something was different.

There was laughter.

Mateo was healthy.

Walking.

Smiling.

Growing.

And every morning, before Nicolás went to work, he visited his son.

Because he finally understood something.

A man could own buildings.

Companies.

May you like

Entire industries.

But none of those things mattered if he lost the people inside his home.
