The Santillán family stood frozen as men in expensive suits entered the mansion.
The leader approached Camila.
“Mrs. Camila Alvarez?”
Rodrigo frowned.
“Who are these people?”
The man ignored him.
“Your executive team is waiting outside. The board meeting has been moved forward.”
Beatriz laughed nervously.
“Executive team? My daughter-in-law is just a housewife.”
The man slowly turned toward her.
“No, Mrs. Santillán.”
He opened a folder.
“She is the founder and majority shareholder of Alvarez Global Holdings.”
Silence.
Rodrigo’s face changed.
“What?”
The man continued.
“She controls companies across three continents. The Santillán Group survived the last five years because of her investments.”
Camila looked at her husband.
“You never asked how your company recovered after the crisis.”
Rodrigo swallowed.
“You…”
“Yes.”
Camila interrupted.
“I saved your family’s empire.”
Valeria stepped forward.
“That’s impossible.”
Camila looked at her.
“Nothing is impossible when you work harder than the people who underestimate you.”
Then the police officer entered.
“Rodrigo Santillán?”
