Minutes before his wedding, Lucas found his little daughter locked inside a bathroom.

Minutes before his wedding, Lucas found his little daughter locked inside a bathroom.

But what she whispered in his ear made him turn around and stare at his bride.

“She said after today… I won’t be your family anymore.”

Lucas went cold.

The wedding was supposed to begin in minutes.

The grand ballroom was already packed.

Crystal chandeliers burned above hundreds of guests.

Soft music drifted through rows of elegant chairs.

And at the other end of the hall stood the woman Lucas was about to marry, breathtaking in her white wedding gown.

Everything looked perfect.

Until Lucas heard the pounding.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

It was faint.

Desperate.

Coming from the far end of the hallway.

Lucas stopped walking.

Then he heard a tiny voice.

“Daddy…”

His heart dropped.

“Daddy, I’m scared.”

Lucas ran.

The sound led him to a bathroom door.

Locked.

“Sweetheart?”

“DADDY!”

He grabbed the handle.

“Move away from the door!”

Lucas slammed his shoulder against it.

Once.

Twice.

CRACK.

The lock broke.

The door flew open.

His little daughter stumbled out, tears streaking her face, her entire body trembling.

She threw herself into his arms.

Lucas dropped to his knees.

“Hey, hey… Daddy’s here.”

She buried her face against his neck.

Lucas held her tightly.

Then his expression changed.

“Who did this?”

The little girl froze.

“Sweetheart, look at me.”

She slowly lifted her head.

“Who locked you in there?”

She didn’t speak.

Instead, she raised one shaking hand…

and pointed down the hallway.

Straight at the bride.

The hallway went dead silent.

Several guests turned.

Lucas stared at the woman he was supposed to marry in less than ten minutes.

His daughter tightened her arms around his neck.

Then she whispered something that made his stomach turn.

“She told me… after today, I won’t be family anymore.”

Lucas slowly stood.

His daughter remained in his arms.

His eyes never left his bride.

“What did you say to my daughter?”

The bride’s face went white.

“Lucas, I can explain.”

“Then explain.”

“I…”

She stopped.

Because something had just slipped beneath the edge of her wedding gown.

Something she clearly didn’t want anyone to see.

Lucas looked down.

So did everyone else.

And suddenly, the terrified little girl locked in the bathroom was no longer the biggest problem at the wedding.

Because what Lucas discovered beneath that dress exposed a secret the bride had been hiding for months.

And the reason she wanted his daughter gone had nothing to do with jealousy.

It was far worse.

By the time Lucas learned the whole truth, both families were in shock…
