CHAPTER 4: JUSTICE ARRIVES

Three police officers walked into the nursery accompanied by my attorney and two corporate investigators.

Victoria immediately forced a smile.

"This is all a misunderstanding."

I handed the lead detective the memory card.

"Watch everything."

Twenty minutes later, the detective looked at Victoria with cold eyes.

"You are under arrest for aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, child endangerment, conspiracy, corporate espionage, and financial fraud."

Victoria's wine glass slipped from her fingers and shattered across the floor.

She stared at me.

"You... called the police?"

"No," I answered quietly.

"I called them the moment I saw Emily tied to that bed."

She tried to run.

She didn't make it three steps before the officers placed her in handcuffs.

As they led her away, she screamed my name.

The twins slept peacefully through it all.

Weeks later...

Emily's son received the life-saving surgery he desperately needed.

I paid every hospital bill.

She never asked me for a single dollar.

She only thanked me for believing her.

Months later, I testified against Victoria in court.

The security footage, financial records, and affair evidence destroyed every lie she tried to tell.

She was sentenced to years in prison.

She lost everything.

The mansion.

The fortune.

The company.

Even custody of the twins.

As for me...

I learned that evil doesn't always arrive looking like a monster.

Sometimes...

it smiles across the dinner table.

And the woman you trust most...

May you like

can become the greatest danger your family will ever face.

THE END
