CHAPTER 3: THE SECRET MY WIFE HAD HIDDEN

The second recording wasn't from today.

It had been made nearly six months earlier.

Victoria stood inside my private office.

She thought she was alone.

She opened my desk drawer.

Removed several legal documents.

Then carefully photographed every page.

Moments later, another man walked into the room.

I recognized him instantly.

Damien Foster.

My biggest business competitor.

Victoria smiled at him.

"You'll have everything Nathan owns before the end of the year."

Damien kissed her.

Passionately.

I couldn't breathe.

Emily covered her mouth in shock.

The affair had been happening for months.

But it became even worse.

Victoria handed Damien a small bottle filled with clear liquid.

"What is that?" Damien asked.

She smiled.

"Just enough medication to make Nathan look mentally unstable."

"If he's declared incompetent..."

"...I'll control his company."

The room spun around me.

This wasn't just betrayal.

It was a conspiracy.

At that exact moment, my phone rang.

It was my head of security.

"Sir... we've traced multiple unauthorized transfers from your private accounts."

Every transfer had been authorized...

using Victoria's biometric access.

She hadn't only betrayed my marriage.

She had been stealing my empire.

I slowly looked up.

Victoria backed away.

For the first time...

she looked terrified.

Then the front door alarm suddenly sounded.

Someone had just entered the mansion.
