Chapter 2: The First Blow

The ambulance disappeared behind flashing red lights, carrying Khloe and her unborn daughter toward St. Luke's Medical Center.

Harrison stood alone on the courthouse steps, his bloodstained hands hanging motionless at his sides.

He didn't chase the ambulance.

He didn't shout.

He simply pulled out his phone.

"Melissa."

His senior investigator answered immediately.

"Yes, Mr. Cole?"

"I want everything."

A brief silence.

"Everything?"

"Every email Richard Harrington has ever sent. Every bank transfer. Every shell company. Every affair. Every lie. Every judge he bribed. Every politician he donated to. Every phone call Vanessa Kensington made in the last three years."

Another pause.

"I want their entire lives on my desk before sunrise."

"Understood."

He ended the call.

Across the courthouse plaza, police officers handcuffed Vanessa while she screamed that it had been an accident.

"I barely touched her!"

Witnesses watched in silence.

Then one elderly woman stepped forward.

"I saw you shove her."

Another lawyer raised his hand.

"So did I."

Then another.

Within minutes, more than twenty witnesses had voluntarily given statements.

Vanessa suddenly realized there would be no escaping surveillance footage.

The courthouse had cameras everywhere.

Richard stood frozen.

For the first time in his life, money couldn't solve the problem standing before him.

Three hours later...

A trauma surgeon removed his gloves outside the operating room.

Harrison stood before him without speaking.

The doctor sighed.

"We stopped the bleeding."

Harrison didn't blink.

"And?"

"Your sister survived."

A breath escaped Harrison's chest.

"But..."

His jaw tightened.

"The baby had to be delivered immediately."

"Is she alive?"

The doctor's expression softened.

"A little girl."

Harrison closed his eyes.

"For now."

The words hit harder than any verdict.

"She suffered oxygen deprivation after the fall."

"Will she recover?"

"We honestly don't know."

"And Khloe?"

"She'll live."

The doctor hesitated.

"But she doesn't know her husband caused this."

Harrison slowly nodded.

"She never will hear it from anyone except me."

That same evening...

Richard arrived at his downtown penthouse expecting comfort.

Instead, Vanessa was waiting with swollen eyes after posting bail.

"This is your fault!" she screamed.

"My fault?"

"You promised she'd sign the divorce!"

"You pushed her!"

"I only wanted to scare her!"

Richard stared at her.

Then something terrifying happened.

His phone vibrated.

One email.

FROM: Harrison Cole

Subject:

Round One.

Richard opened it.

Attached were twelve PDFs.

Each contained financial records Harrison had already frozen through emergency court orders.

Every offshore account.

Every hidden corporation.

Every fraudulent transfer.

At the bottom was a single sentence.

Tomorrow, everyone learns who you really are.

Richard's face drained of color.

For the first time...

May you like

He understood Harrison wasn't defending a lawsuit.

He was conducting an execution.
