Chapter 2 — The Detail Nobody Saw

Chapter 2 — The Detail Nobody Saw

Tyler Lawson had spent his entire life controlling situations.

He was charming.

Successful.

Respected.

Everyone at the party knew him as the perfect son.

The perfect brother.

The perfect man.

So when Bridget accused him, many people hesitated.

“She must be confused.”

“She probably slipped.”

“Tyler would never do that.”

Those were the words people whispered.

But Sarah didn’t care about Tyler’s reputation.

She cared about evidence.

She carefully examined Bridget’s injuries.

Then she looked toward the terrace railing.

“Bridget,” Sarah asked quietly.

“Before you fell… did you feel someone behind you?”

Bridget’s eyes filled with fear.

“Yes.”

A silence fell.

“Someone grabbed my arm.”

Tyler immediately stepped forward.

“That’s not true.”

Sarah looked at him.

Not angrily.

Not emotionally.

Just observing.

And that frightened Tyler more than an accusation.

Because Sarah wasn’t guessing.

She was collecting facts.
