Chapter 2: The Evidence He Never Expected

Two hours earlier, Grant believed he had destroyed Mara.

Now, every second of his arrogance was being replayed on a giant screen.

The museum’s legal security team entered with sealed evidence boxes.

Mara’s father, Adrian Vale, appeared on the main monitor.

The entire room became silent.

Adrian Vale was not just a businessman.

He was the man who had quietly purchased controlling ownership of the Hawthorne Foundation six months earlier.

The man nobody knew existed behind the scenes.

“Mara,” he said through the screen.

“Are you injured?”

Mara looked down at her torn dress.

Then back at the camera.

“I’m fine.”

Her father’s expression changed.

Not anger.

Something colder.

“Good.”

A pause.

“Because now we finish this.”

Grant stepped forward.

“You think hiding behind your father makes you powerful?”

Mara looked directly at him.

“No.”

She walked closer.

“Knowing when to stop protecting people like you does.”

The evidence boxes opened.

Inside were financial records.

Private messages.

Legal documents.

And years of complaints that had disappeared.

Grant’s confidence slowly disappeared.

Because this was never only about one night.

Mara had uncovered everything.
