CHAPTER 2: THE SECRET THEY BURIED

CHAPTER 2: THE SECRET THEY BURIED

Dante took Elena and the girls to his private mansion outside Boston.

For the first time in years, the gates that protected him were opened for someone else.

The triplets were afraid of everything.

The huge rooms.

The security guards.

The expensive clothes.

They had spent their whole lives hiding.

Dante watched them quietly.

One girl was holding a broken stuffed rabbit.

Another kept checking if her sisters were close.

The smallest refused to sleep.

“She thinks someone will come back,” Elena explained.

Dante looked at her.

“Who?”

Elena swallowed.

“The man who saved us from the fire.”

Dante’s expression changed.

“Saved?”

Elena nodded.

“After the crash, I was alive. Barely. Someone pulled me out before the car exploded.”

“Who?”

“I never saw his face.”

Dante’s fists tightened.

“Then how did they convince you I ordered it?”

Elena looked at him with pain.

“Because they showed me proof.”

“What proof?”

“A video.”

Dante immediately turned.

“What video?”

Elena whispered:

“A video of you saying my name before the explosion.”

Dante felt cold.

Because he knew one thing.

He never recorded that.

Someone had created evidence.

May you like

Someone wanted him to believe Elena was dead.

And wanted Elena to believe Dante was her enemy.
