Chapter 4: Two Brothers, One Future

Three months later...

The Ashford mansion looked very different.

Edward Ashford had been convicted after doctors, lawyers, and former employees testified against him.

His fortune was frozen.

His empire was dismantled.

Victoria refused every board position the family still offered.

Instead, she devoted every day to earning back the years she had lost.

She knew she could never erase Noah's childhood.

But she refused to waste another moment.

At first, Noah struggled to sleep indoors.

He left food hidden beneath his bed.

He flinched whenever someone closed a door too loudly.

Liam never laughed at him.

Instead, every night before bed, he quietly placed two sandwiches inside Noah's backpack.

Just in case.

Weeks later, Noah found them.

He looked at his brother.

"You don't have to do that anymore."

Liam smiled.

"I know."

"But I want you to remember you'll never be hungry again."

For the first time since they met...

Noah smiled.

It was small.

But it was real.

One year later, the brothers stood together outside their new school.

They wore identical uniforms.

Not because anyone had forced them to.

Because they had chosen to.

A reporter asked Noah what he planned to do with the inheritance that had finally been restored to him.

He glanced at Liam before answering.

"I'm going to build homes for children who are still waiting for someone to find them."

Liam placed an arm around his brother's shoulders.

"We were separated by greed."

Noah nodded.

"So we'll spend the rest of our lives giving other children something money could never buy."

"A family."

The two brothers walked through the school gates side by side.

This time...

May you like

No one would ever separate them again.

The End.
