Chapter 3 – The Perfect Family Begins to Fall

Three weeks later...

Emma's new office overlooked downtown.

It wasn't extravagant.

But every chair, every computer, every client inside the building belonged to her.

Business spread faster than she expected.

Her creativity had only grown stronger during the years she had been silenced.

Former clients referred new ones.

Within a month, she had hired twelve employees.

Meanwhile...

The Whitmores were preparing for their annual charity gala.

Hundreds of influential guests gathered beneath glittering chandeliers.

Television cameras covered the event.

Margaret stepped onto the stage wearing a practiced smile.

"Our family has always believed in kindness, compassion, and dignity—"

A giant screen behind her suddenly flickered.

The microphone cut out.

The room fell silent.

Instead of the charity presentation...

A different video began playing.

Emma.

Dragged by her hair.

Her face slammed into the salad bowl.

Daniel laughing.

Margaret ordering everyone to watch.

Every second echoed through the ballroom.

No one moved.

No one breathed.

When the recording ended, the silence was deafening.

Claire Benson slowly stood from the front row.

"I believe," she said calmly, "everyone deserves to see how this family treats people when cameras aren't supposed to be recording."

Guests began leaving.

Sponsors withdrew their support before the gala was even over.

Reporters rushed toward Daniel.

Margaret screamed for security.

But there was nothing left to protect.

The mask had fallen.
