Chapter 2: The Man Behind The Mask

The recording ended.

Silence followed.

Not the silence of confusion.

The silence of people realizing they had been fooled.

The guests who once admired Logan now looked at him differently.

The powerful businessman.

The perfect husband.

The charming man everyone trusted.

It was all an illusion.

Logan stepped forward.

“You don’t understand.”

Thomas stared at him.

“Then explain.”

Logan looked around the room.

Searching for someone.

Anyone.

The emerald-dressed woman slowly stepped forward.

“I can explain.”

Logan turned.

His eyes widened.

“Victoria…”

The woman who had been silent all night finally spoke.

“I worked for your company for five years.”

Her voice was steady.

“And I saw what you did.”

Logan’s face became pale.

Victoria looked at Emily.

“I should have spoken sooner.”

Emily looked surprised.

“Why didn’t you?”

Victoria swallowed.

“Because I was afraid too.”

The room became even quieter.

Thomas looked at her.

“What do you have?”

Victoria reached into her purse and pulled out a small device.

“A backup copy.”

Logan stepped backward.

“No.”

Victoria continued.

“The conversations. The threats. The way he controlled people.”

She looked at Logan.

“You thought deleting the files from your office meant they disappeared.”

A bitter smile crossed her face.

“But you forgot one thing.”

She held up the device.

“You never knew who was watching.”

The police arrived minutes later.

Not because Thomas called them.

Because someone else already had.

Logan finally understood.

This was bigger than one ruined wedding.

This was the end of everything he built.

As officers approached him, Logan looked at Emily.

For the first time, he had no power over her.

No fear.

No control.

Only regret.

“Emily…”

She looked at him.

The woman who once begged him to love her.

The woman who once believed his promises.

Now she saw him clearly.

“You didn’t lose me today, Logan.”

A pause.

“You lost the person who believed you.”

The officers escorted him away.

May you like

And for the first time in years…

Emily could breathe.
