Chapter 3: The DNA That Ended Every Lie

Ten minutes later...
The front doors opened.
An elderly gentleman entered with two attorneys and a family physician carrying a sealed envelope.
Everyone immediately recognized him.
Victor Hale.
Marcus's father.
His expression hardened the moment he saw Amara.
Without hesitation, he knelt before the frightened little girl.
"My God..."
His voice trembled.
"You have your grandmother's eyes."
Danielle began shaking uncontrollably.
"This isn't necessary."
Victor ignored her.
He handed the sealed envelope to Marcus.
Marcus slowly opened it.
Inside was a certified DNA report.
Silence swallowed the room.
Marcus read only one sentence before closing his eyes.
Probability of paternity: 99.9999%.
He inhaled deeply.
Then looked directly at Amara.
"I'm your father."
The little girl stared at him with wide, tearful eyes.
"You... really came back?"
Marcus smiled through his own tears.
"I never left."
Danielle collapsed into a nearby chair.
"I was afraid..."
she whispered.
"I thought if you knew about her..."
"...you'd leave me."
Marcus's expression remained steady.
"No."
"I would have married you."
"I would have raised our daughter."
"But you stole six years from all of us."
No one defended Danielle.
Even her closest friends lowered their eyes in shame.
Victor stepped forward.
"As chairman of the Hale Foundation..."
he announced,
"...I will personally establish a trust fund for my granddaughter."
He turned toward Danielle.
"And tomorrow..."
"...my lawyers will begin proceedings for full custody."
Danielle burst into tears.
May you like
But for the first time...
No one comforted her.
