Chapter 2: The Footage That Changed Everything

Marcus Thorne had built his entire empire by trusting evidence.

Numbers.

Contracts.

Facts.

Not rumors.

Not emotions.

And definitely not the carefully rehearsed lies of someone standing in front of him pretending to be innocent.

For years, Marcus had been known as a man who could see through deception before anyone else.

But that night...

The woman he trusted most had nearly made him doubt his own instincts.

His eyes remained fixed on Isabella.

“She attacked me,” Isabella repeated, placing a trembling hand against her chest.

“She became jealous. She pushed me first.”

Her voice was perfectly controlled.

Almost too controlled.

Marcus said nothing.

He simply walked past her.

Straight toward Khloe.

“Don’t move,” he whispered.

His voice was different.

Not the cold voice of the billionaire everyone feared.

The voice of a husband terrified he might lose his family.

Khloe looked up at him.

Her eyes were filled with pain and disappointment.

“Marcus…”

She swallowed hard.

“I tried to tell you.”

Those four words hurt more than any accusation.

Because they carried months of silence.

Months of Isabella’s manipulation.

Months of Marcus believing that Khloe was simply insecure.

He carefully helped his wife onto the hospital bed while doctors rushed into the room.

Behind them, Isabella stood frozen.

She had expected anger.

She had expected Marcus to defend her.

She had expected Khloe to be blamed.

But she had forgotten one thing.

Marcus Thorne never made decisions without proof.

And proof was already waiting.

The security footage.

Twenty minutes later, Marcus stood inside the hospital security office.

The room was dark except for the glow of the monitor.

The security director pressed play.

The footage appeared.

There was no sound at first.

Only images.

Khloe standing near the table.

Isabella approaching.

The argument.

The shove.

The moment Isabella stepped forward.

And then...

The kick.

Marcus stopped breathing.

For a moment, the powerful billionaire disappeared.

There was only a husband watching the woman he loved being hurt.

His hands tightened into fists.

Elaine Parker stood behind him, covering her mouth.

“She lied,” she whispered.

Marcus didn’t answer.

He kept watching.

Because the video revealed something else.

Something worse.

Isabella had not acted alone.

Minutes before entering the suite, she had been on the phone.

Talking to someone.

Marcus leaned closer.

“Zoom in.”

The security officer enhanced the footage.

The name on Isabella’s phone screen appeared briefly.

Victor Rossi.

Isabella’s father.

And Marcus’s biggest business rival.

The betrayal suddenly became much larger than an affair.

This was planned.

When Marcus returned to the hospital room, Khloe was awake.

The doctor had confirmed their baby was stable.

But the emotional damage was harder to heal.

Marcus sat beside her.

For the first time in years, he looked like a man who had lost control.

“I’m sorry.”

Khloe looked away.

“You believed her.”

Marcus lowered his eyes.

“Yes.”

The honesty surprised her.

“I was so focused on protecting my company that I failed to protect my family.”

A tear rolled down Khloe’s cheek.

Not because she was weak.

Because she had waited too long to hear those words.

Marcus gently held her hand.

“I promise you something.”

His voice became colder.

“I will make sure everyone responsible faces the truth.”

And somewhere outside the hospital room...

Isabella received a message.

He knows.

May you like

For the first time that night...

She was afraid.
