Chapter 4 — Home Again

Three months later...
The trial filled every seat in the courtroom.
The leader of the child trafficking ring was sentenced to life in prison.
Dozens of missing children were reunited with their families because Noah had remembered abandoned buildings, hidden routes, and faces that investigators had searched for for years.
When the judge announced the verdict...
The courtroom stood and applauded.
Outside, reporters surrounded Noah.
One asked softly,
"What do you want now?"
The eleven-year-old boy looked at the woman standing beside him.
Then at Emily, who refused to let go of his hand.
He smiled for the first time without fear.
"I don't want people to call me the homeless boy anymore."
A tear rolled down his mother's cheek.
"I just want to be my mom's son again."
A year later...
The alley was gone.
In its place stood a community center for homeless children.
Above the entrance was a small bronze plaque.
Every Child Deserves to Be Found.
Inside, Noah helped hand out sandwiches to children who had nowhere else to go.
Emily stood beside him, tying blue ribbons around lunch bags.
Their mother watched from the doorway, her eyes filled with quiet gratitude.
Years of searching...
Years of heartbreak...
Had ended because one little girl looked at a hungry stranger...
...and chose kindness instead.
